Details

Idea: You don’t have time, you make time.

What: A four-day vineyard escape for artists to put energy into personal projects.

All artists know what it feels like to have that burning personal project that’s screaming to get out if only there was the time, space, materials, and no excuses. On a beautiful vineyard in the Willamette Valley, we will facilitate a space to help you explore the wormhole and get to the other side. Through generative exercises, group ideation sessions and a supportive environment to explore in, The Incubator is an invitation to gift yourself the space and time to make.

Travel: We will handle transport to and from the Portland Airport.

Accommodation: 4-night stay at the Vineyard Bed & Breakfast Sosta House. Choose between a private or shared suite.

Workshops: This retreat will include a mix of facilitated workshops and brainstorm sessions as well as large blocks of time for personal creation. The guided activities will be in service of helping each other bring our individual creative visions into the world.

Activities: At the vineyard, we will be spoiled with local artisan meals from chef Mia Ponzi, paired with local wine. We will explore the hills of the Willamette Valley, as well as relax in the wood sauna & cold plunge.

FAQs

  • Our workshops are centered around unlocking creativity. There are no prerequisite skills required, and a lot of the work can apply to a variety of creative mediums. We do a lot of work around idea generation, understanding our intrinsic creativity and how to access it, and collaborative prompt based activities. Certain retreats include more skill-based workshops, which vary by location.

  • While our workshops are more centered around creativity than business, a lot of previous attendees have found our retreats to be helpful when starting a creative business. Our retreats attract an array of professional creatives and the community element is invaluable. We have lots of attendees who come sharing advice, contract templates, and skills with each other! We are also happy to answer any business related questions.

  • This retreat is different than our others in that we encourage folks to come with an open mind to creating a rich body of work while you are here. If you have something you’ve always wanted to create, this is the perfect opportunity. But there is no need to have a specific vision - our workshops will help you uncover what you can create when you gift yourself the time and space to explore.
